Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity DisorderJanice Selekman, RN, DNSc, is a professor at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common conditions demanding the time and knowledge of school nurses. Although the condition was identified 100 years ago, it is only in the past decade that information has been clarified. New medication is continually being developed, and the area of comorbidity is exploding. This article updates school nurses on the latest information regarding ADHD.
